Medicare has specific thickness and material requirements for the diabetic insoles. The insoles are molded directly to the foot of the diabetic. The materials that the insoles are made of conform to the foot and cushion the foot but must be changed every 4 months. Thus Medicare covers the cost of three insoles per year.
