Dr. Davies has developed a unique foot biomechanics analysis system
that he calls the C.A.F.F. System (an acronym for Computer Analysis
of Foot Function). The C.A.F.F. system consists of a state-of-the-art
foot pressure measurement system in which paper-thin pressure sensors
allow for the in-shoe measurement of foot pressures as the patient walks
or runs on a treadmill. The system instantly detects, displays, and
records foot pressures and forces without interfering with normal gait
pattern. In addition, the patient's gait while walking or running on
the treadmill is captured on a video camera. The video is then digitally
analyzed with a computerized system that allows for frame-by-frame analysis
of the patient's gait. This sophisticated biomechanical analysis of
foot function will allow Dr Davies to construct orthotics that will
not only correct for any physical foot abnormalities, but also to compensate
for any gait abnormalities caused by other lower body problems. Thus
we can treat patients with foot pain, knee pain, hip pain and low back
pain providing them with pain relief and possibly preventing unnecessary
surgery
